Jim & Linda Crawford have been teaching and advising parents through classes and youth activities for over 30 years. Their involvement began first as young, single adults through various church youth groups, and then as a married couple hosting parenting classes for expectant, new and growing families.
Jim was trained as an electrical engineer and has specialized as a high-tech consultant to industry over the past twenty years. He has also been involved with multiple venture-backed start-up companies including his own. He has authored two technical textbooks, the first in 1994 and the second in 2008, and over 25 U.S. patents. He is working on a third technical book at present. His side interests include astronomy, telescope making, digital photography, writing, and hiking.
Linda was heavily involved in church and school related activities during her children’s growing up years, including an 11 year tenure on the local elementary school board. In more recent years, Linda has been volunteering as a mentor to young moms and helps lead women Bible studies in her home church.
This website is a natural outgrowth of their teaching parenting classes now for over 15 years, and raising four children of their own into young adulthood. This site is written from dual perspectives: Linda, who has “been in the trenches” as Mom, and Jim who has been fully engaged along the parenting journey too as Dad. Both perspectives are vital.
Parenting is not for the faint-hearted as you no doubt already know if you are a parent. The “parenting topic” is one of the most controversial subjects out there for many reasons.
